We are excited to announce that a
production of 'The Hiding Place,' a musical based on the life
of Corrie tenBoom, is in the works for this coming spring (2016). It
is a story about a family in the Netherlands during WW II who worked
in the underground to save people from the Nazis. Their
motivation was their deep love for Christ and for His people as
well as anyone else who needed help, including the Nazis
themselves. In the end two would die because of their
convictions. Corrie tenBoom would live and spend the rest of her
life encouraging others to forgive and love as Christ had forgiven
them. The
story is remarkable in how it shines with the mercy and love of
Jesus.
In order to give our cast time to learn
lines before rehearsals begin in January we will be holding auditions
early this autumn. The final performance date is yet to be determined
but we are aiming at early May.
There will be lots of roles to fill,
both large and small, as well as a choir that needs plenty of
enthusiastic voices, including a number of solo parts. All this
means that we have lots of different opportunities for kids to
explore auditioning for! Everyone ages 6 and up is welcomed to come
out for the choir and we would love to see lots of high school
students tryout for the play as it is a more mature story and would
benefit with a few older actors.
We look forward to seeing you there!
